General Information

All students can participate in EL Civics instruction and assessment. However, only ESL students in WIOA II EL Civics education programs can earn payment points for passing COAAP assessments. ABE, ASE, and CTE students can earn CAEP Immigrant Integration Indicator (I3) outcome for CAEP but not payment points for WIOA II. Task: 1

Description: Learners (BH - A) will research employment openings in fields related to job interests by using resources such as "help wanted" ads, and students will create a list of '3 job openings' [' = underline] each of which include 4 elements such as:
1. Type of job
2. Qualifications
3. Experience required
4. How to apply

(BL will select from simplified resources and give information orally to examiner for 2 jobs and 3 required elements)

Task: 3

Description: Job Interview (10 items)

BL-A student will answer up to '6 basic questions' [' = underline] asked on a job interview (BL=4, BH=5, ILA=6). Student will play the role of the employee; asessor will play the part of the employer. Sample questions:
*Are you working now? Where?
*What are your skills?

IL-A student will answer up to '3 more involved job interview questions' [' = underline] (sample below) regarding skills, ambitions, qualifications, and work history (IL=1, IH=2, A=3). In addition, student will ask '1 question' [' = underline] about the job.
Sample questions:
*Tell me about your experience as a nanny.
*Why should I hire you for this job?

Body Language (3 items)
All students will be rated on 3 proper body language characteristics (eye contact, posture, no fidgeting)

Preparedness (2 items)
All students will be rated on up to 2 preparedness items (brought resume/application and additional personal information such as awards, references, personal strengths)
