General Information

All students can participate in EL Civics instruction and assessment. However, only ESL students in WIOA II EL Civics education programs can earn payment points for passing COAAP assessments. ABE, ASE, and CTE students can earn CAEP Immigrant Integration Indicator (I3) outcome for CAEP but not payment points for WIOA II. Task: 1

Description: Content A (9 points possible)
Student looks at 9 pictures of safe and unsafe work conditions and write the words "safe" or "unsafe" under the appropriate pictures.
Content B (27 points possible)
Student writes one sentence about each picture, saying why the situation is safe or unsafe.

Task: 2

Description: Student (BL-BH) will look at a picture depicting an unsafe work situation.
Student (IL-A)will read a brief description of an unsafe work situation.
Student (BL-A) then read a list of agencies and select two appropriate agencies to contact about the unsafe condition. Student will copy the contact information for the two agencies they have selected.
