General Information

All students can participate in EL Civics instruction and assessment. However, only ESL students in WIOA II EL Civics education programs can earn payment points for passing COAAP assessments. ABE, ASE, and CTE students can earn CAEP Immigrant Integration Indicator (I3) outcome for CAEP but not payment points for WIOA II. Task: 1

Description: Read an Education or Training Provider Internet Webpage, Brochure or Schedule
Student will scan an Education or Training Provider internet Webpage, schedule, brochure, or other appropriate resource and answer up to 10 (BH-6, IL- 8, IH- 9, A=10) specific, open-ended questions about the information provided. Questions will increase in difficulty in a level=appropriate manner.

BH/IL example questions:
What days does the ESL/Citizenship class meet at Center City?
What is the phone number for information about the Conversation class at Mid City?
What is the address of the Cesar Chavez campus?
What time does the ESL Computer LAB open at Mid City on Saturday mornings?

IH/A example questions:
What is the course number for the Reading and Composition class that R. Peters teaches on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at City College?
When does the Modern Dance class course #78513 meet?
How many units do students earn in Microsoft Excel, course # 44721?

Description: Write a Paragraph about a Career Goal
Student (BH-IL) will write a one-paragraph composition identifying a career, retraining, job or personal goal, the steps to achieve the goal, and an educational resource that can be utilized to attain the education or training required.

Optimally, the writing task will be created on a computer and sent to the assessor electronically.
