General Information

All students can participate in EL Civics instruction and assessment. However, only ESL students in WIOA II EL Civics education programs can earn payment points for passing COAAP assessments. ABE, ASE, and CTE students can earn CAEP Immigrant Integration Indicator (I3) outcome for CAEP but not payment points for WIOA II. Task: 1

Description: Complete a Financial Application

Given an agency-created financial history, student (IL-A) will fill out an authentic online/mobile financial application such as for a loan or for a checking or savings account etc.

Given an agency-created financial history, student (BL-BH) will fill out an authentic online/mobile financial application such as for a loan or for a checking or savings account etc. with a reduced number of sections that student needs to complete. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways such as: (1) giving BL-BH the complete form given to IL-A students and highlighting the sections BL-BH students need to fill out (2) giving BL-BH a reduced form which includes only those sections of the authentic application (given to IL-A students) that are assigned to BL-BH students.

Optimally, the application will be completed on a computer and shared with the assessor electronically, via photo or the equivalent.

Task: 2

Description: Use Online/Mobile Financial Apps

Content A: (6 items, 24 points possible)

Given online/mobile banking tasks, student will use an online/mobile bank simulator such as https://www.ngpf.org/bank-sim to demonstrate how to use up to 6 (BL= 2, BH=3, IL=4, IH-A=6) level-appropriate mobile/online banking functions such as transferring money, depositing money, paying a bill etc.

Content B: (3 items, 3 points possible)
Identify up to 3 (BL-BH=1, IL=2, IH-A=3) ways to keep online/mobile banking tasks secure.

Examples:
Logging out
2 step verification/authentication
Use strong passwords
Keeping personal information up to date

Optimally student will demonstrate work by taking a picture/screenshot of the work and sending to the examiner or examiner can use an observation checklist to evaluate the work as the student completes the tasks.
