General Information

All students can participate in EL Civics instruction and assessment. However, only ESL students in WIOA II EL Civics education programs can earn payment points for passing COAAP assessments. ABE, ASE, and CTE students can earn CAEP Immigrant Integration Indicator (I3) outcome for CAEP but not payment points for WIOA II. Task: 1

Description: Navigate a School or Organization Website or App (10 items, 20 points possible)

Given the URL or QR code of a school or organization’s website or App, student will search for, locate and answer up to 10 questions BL= 5, BH=6, IL=7, IH-A=10) about information found on the website or App such as:

Examples:

2. Phone numbers (Principal, secretary, teacher)
3. Email addresses (Principal, secretary, teacher)

Task: 2

Description: Complete a Digital Form
Given an agency-created personal history, student (IL-A) will complete an authentic digital form (e.g. enrollment, registration, medical release, school equipment release, etc.) for an adult education program or a child’s school.

Given an agency-created personal history, student (BL-BH) will complete an authentic digital form (e.g. enrollment, registration, medical release, school equipment release, etc.) for an adult education program or a child’s school with a reduced number of questions.
This can be accomplished in a variety of ways such as: (1) giving BL-BH the complete form given to IL students and highlighting the sections BL-BH students need to fill out (2) giving BL-BH a reduced form which includes only those sections of the authentic form (given to IL students) that are assigned to BL-BH students.

Optimally, the form will be completed on a computer, tablet or phone and sent to the assessor electronically.
