General Information

All students can participate in EL Civics instruction and assessment. However, only ESL students in WIOA II EL Civics education programs can earn payment points for passing COAAP assessments. ABE, ASE, and CTE students can earn CAEP Immigrant Integration Indicator (I3) outcome for CAEP but not payment points for WIOA II. Task: 1

Description: Explain a Procedure for Cleaning (BL-A) 24 pts possible

Content A (18 pts Possible)
Student (BL-A) will identify the equipment, material and supplies needed to clean up to 3 surfaces or areas (BL-BH=1, IL=2, IH-A=3) such as above-floor surfaces, hard floor surfaces, carpeted floor surfaces, restrooms, etc.

Content B (6 pts possible)
Student (IL-A) will explain the best practices for cleaning each surface of area (IL=2, IH-A=3) such as choosing the correct cleaning solution, how to avoid leaving streaks or film on glass, where to begin and end the cleaning process, etc.

Task: 3

Description: Present an Oral Report about Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Student will present to the assessor or a small group (which includes the assessor), the safety reasons for using proper PPE. Student will present one standard item of equipment for up to each of the 3 categories (IL=1, IH=2, A=3) listed below:

-Face, Eye and Ear Protection
-General Work Clothing
-Special Protective Clothing

The report will include:
Description of equipment
Its purpose as protective equipment
Under what work or training conditions equipment is used

Visual Aids/Realia
Student will use proper and relevant visual aids to support and demonstrate the oral presentation.

Presentation
Student will use effective speech and body language and will refer to the visual aids throughout the presentation.
